Art Therapy
“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”
– Pablo Picasso
“Art speaks where words are unable to explain.”
– Pam Holland
“Art can permeate the very deepest part of us, where no words exist.”
― Eileen Miller
Art therapy at Claret emphasizes the process of art making. Setting an intention, uninhibited art making, witnessing, and sharing are common activities in the space. The art therapist invites individuals to come create, process, heal, and learn more about themselves through each class. The participants come from all walks of life, all backgrounds and creeds, but inside the studio, they are all equally artists. No artistic experience is needed; participants are only asked to bring an open mind. Through the transformative power of art making, participants are instructed to explore emotions, memories, and inner landscapes, allowing for profound personal growth and self-discovery. For individual sessions, the art therapist will give a free consultation. Yasuko (Sue) Yoshihara ATR-BC, LCPC (Board Certified Registered Art Therapist, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor)
