Norma Pocasangre

Norma Pocasangre, BBA, native of El Salvador, provides Counseling Services at St. Jerome Parish in Rogers Park, Chicago. Norma earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, in 1998 in El Salvador, and is now pursuing a Master of Art Degree in Pastoral Counseling. Norma has been a Religious Missionary Sister for 18 years and has ministered as a spiritual companion for youth, young adults and the elderly in Hong Kong and the West Coast of the United States. Norma is bilingual in both English and Spanish.

Norma’s has an Integral and Holistic approach to counseling. Empathic and active listening as well as cultural sensitivity are important qualities for her in working with clients. Her focus is to accompany clients in their healing process by helping them to discover new meaning through identifying their hopes and strengths. In this way the clients can be more empowered in making present and future life choices.
