BC Shelly, M.A., M.Div., is fourth-year student from Adler University pursuing a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. BC’s therapeutic style is client centered and believes people are experts in their own lives. He seeks to meet people where they are and seeking to understand their perspective on their experience. BC is the Parish Counselor at St. Francis Xavier.
BC earned a bachelor’s degree in Meteorology from NC State University and a Master of Divinity from Liberty University. After seminary, he pursued Clinical Pastoral Education to become a chaplain. During that time, he found a passion for psychology and began pursuing clinical psychology programs. He enrolled at Adler in 2019 and quickly began to focus his studies in Neuropsychology. BC served in the US Army Reserves for 16 years and has been mobilized to Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Cuba. He is from western North Carolina and misses the mountains most of all. In his spare time, BC enjoys cooking, getting around Chicago on his bicycle, and triathlons.
